finally. i have done my website. while, during this process of designing and learning, i do learn some.
today, i went to university to connect ftp database. but, it takes me a while. i made a mistake, seems i am so stupid. i set up my database in my pc. when i in uni, i just forgot to rename my database file.....

From Jin Jin's explanation, I can understand the users scope of her system. And the functions that it provides to the users are enough fot them to make online shopping. But a search engine is probably needed

The sample pages of the website are good. They got good layout. And all the functions are nested reasonable.

Jin Jin does not explain interior data flow very well. I could not fully understand this. Probably need more details.

Base on Jin Jin's schedule as well as the work that she has finished, I beleive Jin Jin will complete this project on time.

GENERAL COMMENTS

Jin Jin has done good job. The functions and the layout of her website are nice. I suggest more work need to be done on Interior documentation and working out a search engine for customer to locate their
interested commodities.

Here is my feedback on your report - I'll put it on the discussion

This looks much better - well done.
I think you might be confusing CSS (cascading style sheets) and RSS
(really simple syndication). Near the top of the report you say that
CSS is for 'broadcasting the latest updates...' - but I think you
really mean RSS. You've got it right in the CSS section below though.
You've referred to Andrew Trebac, from 2002 - I think that's a bit
old, it would be good to find a newer reference for that section of
the report. The full reference isn't at the bottom of the page so I
can't check it out, but from what you've written I think what he said
is a little bit out of date now.
You've put a few references at the bottom of the page, and you also
indicated some places in the text where you were referring to other
material. It's VERY important if you are actually quoting from
another source to indicate who you are quoting and exactly which
phrases or sentences are quoted - use italics or quotation marks to
do this and cite the author in brackets at the end of the quote. It
looks like there are a couple of places in the text where you have
forgotten to do this. You should double check and BE SURE to fix
anything that needs fixing before handing in the final version at the
end of the semester.
When you talk about "XML for website decoration" at the top of the
page do you mean Flex or something like that? In the XML section
below, you talk about normal XML, which is fine, but if you want to
include this then you need to say a bit more about how you will be
using it in your project- I'm not quite sure how it fits in.
The HTML section looks good, mostly these days we try to use XHTML,
which is just slightly different. I think the text would still be OK
if you just changed HTML to XHTML unless you have a special reason
for using HTML - in which case you need to explain your decision.
In the XML-micro, MySQL-micro, and CSS-Micro - the headings should be
XML-macro, MySQL-macro, CSS-Macro. The following section which is
about all three looks more like the micro analysis about how the
technologies apply to your particular project.
You've obviously done a lot of work on the updated report and it's
looking much better-well done. I hope this is some help and look
forward to seeing the final version of the report and the website at
the end of the semester.

My website is focus on the online electrical applications retail store. The purpose of? my object is to develop an online order and purchasing platform for customer on the internet to track up the price, stock status, specification and the product comparison among the on-shelf products, and let them complete online ordering and payment. Moreover, my website will cover several basic functional pages which include home. Register, product cataloger, order. Therefore, the customers could be anyone who is interested in my on sale products. ?Beside the customers, myself as the administrator could use my website to have ?rang of manage operation such as update, routine check, maintenance, as well as upgrade and so on.

User’s activities
The users of my website have two statuses. One is the guest and another is on registered status.

• Customers:

Guest- blows website, checking out products, track up the price, stock status
Registered- when the users register into my website, they provide their personal information. Consequently, users create their own accounts and login my website as well as they are allowed order, purchase, and payment for the commodities.

• Administrator:

Checking out the email from customers. Answering customers’ questions. Updating the catalogue of commodities. Maintaining website. Tracking up the commodity delivery processes.

Technology Micro and Macro analysis According to the final consideration and the last submitted DMT learning proposal, the technologies that I have chosen to achieve the study goals of this subject will be including: l HTML, XML for website construction (major choice) l ASP l CSS l MySQL MICRO 1. How does it fit with the other technologies you have chosen? As the main technology is HTML (Hypertext Makeup language) that I have chosen, there are extremely relevant relationship amount the other chosen technologies. HTML is a very common used technology in the area of website construction as well as design. All scripting component and database management with ASP and SQL relatives are able to attached and linked with a HTML based website. Plus, CSS is the most direct pathway to achieve web-based information and news broadcasting. 2. What kind of technology it is? HTML is a kind of web-based makeup language of web pages. It provides a description of the text-based information in a document to be posted on web by denoting certain text as links, headings, paragraphs, etc. It is able to supply text with interactive forms and embedded images and other objects. HTML also is able to be written in the forms of tags, surrounded by angel brackets. Is the technology proprietary or open source? The technologies that I have chosen are mostly open source technologies. HMTL itself is not a standardized tool, but it is based on its programming and coding grammars as a language. In the aspect of using or implementing, it is based on the standard of its language roles. 3. How good is the community or commercial support for the technology? Firstly, using HTML to construct website is basically the lowest cost project in the scope of website design, because HTML is the most basic and common web language. For learning and practicing purposes, as HTML is open source tools, it does not cost any budget for soft version, the only thing that the designer need to prepare is the computer. For commercial aspect, even HTML as a free technology is able to build up profitable website for online order, which is very considerable. 4. Does it support the development of assessable systems? Actually, accessibility for HTML in the process of constructing stages is the weakness of HTML. As HTML scripts and profiles have been uploaded on to server, everyone is able to access the public context on through the domain name by internet explorer. During the semester of 2008 Autumn, i expect to achieve the studying goals of handling website design and constructing on application level, including coding and design. and the basic languages of designing websites and the experienced skills which would the work more professional, more esay-to-use. I would preferred using HTML and Dreamweamer software as the pathway to achieve my learning purposes; I can imagine that my previous programming subjects can be helpful about this, and doing a complete project in DMT will be fantastic training opportunity for me to go through the website design topic.

SWOT Analysis

Strengths

I am good at requirement analysis and layout structure of website. Through a very short but efficient communication with client, I will be able to clarify the main demand from them and organize their need into structured requiement lists. For implementation, I am familiar with constructing website with the language of HTML advanced, XHTML & XML. Hard working and carefulness are also the positiveness of mine.

Weaknesses

I think the most obvious drawback of mine is being lack of real working experience on relevant topic or projects. The coding part is not my strength as well, so in the stage of implementation, my work could be needing optimization.

Opportunities

Doing this semester and the project included is useful for me in my current and future IT career, as a website designer and network technician.

Threats

The time organizing will be a very treaky and challenged issue i will be facing to in this semester, because i am doing 5 subjects this semester, But anyway i will figure it out and pay my best attention onto the tasks in this subject.
